The IT Industry Charity Ball
YouthNet was delighted to be the beneficiaries of The IT Industry Charity Ball this year. Organised by Intellect and supported by the UK's leading IT newspaper, Computer Weekly and The Information Technologists' Company, the ball is the annual highlight of the IT calendar.
The event
The theme for the 2006 Ball was 'A Night in Atlantis' and over 370 guests were treated to an evening of entertainment and dancing. Hosted by YouthNet's Chair and Founder, Martyn Lewis CBE, the evening raised a fantastic total of £48,800 for askTheSite, YouthNet's anonymous, confidential and expert Q&A service.
Highlights of the night included a live and silent auction, a fireworks display and fairground rides. A video highlighting YouthNet's work on TheSite.org was also shown on the night, demonstrating how TheSite.org has supported young people, and how these young people benefit from the funds raised at events like the ball.
Find out how money raised from the Ball will support YouthNet

Currently, askTheSite provides more than 500 young people every month with expert information, support and advice, with another 50,000 searching askTheSite's archive of previously answered questions.
The Information Technologists' Company says:
"YouthNet's innovative use of technology is the foundation of its vital service to thousands of young people who need reliable, expert help and advice. Its work is an excellent example of using technology to improve lives and I hope the money we raised will ensure more young people benefit."
