The Friends Provident Foundation
The Friends Provident Foundation is helping YouthNet to provide financial literacy information and support to young people aged 16-24, in particular those from disadvantaged groups.
The Friends Provident Foundation supports a wide variety of charitable work that promotes financial inclusion, and has generously awarded YouthNet a grant of £50,000 over three years.
We are absolutely delighted that the Foundation is helping us to make our 'money management' information available to more young people, in particular through new technology such as mobile phones, in order to reduce the information gap that currently exists between young people in different socio-economic groups.
The Friends Provident Foundation says "Supporting YouthNet for the development of 'Bank Manager in Your Pocket" is a really important part of our work to create the infrastructure and platforms for better solutions to money worries. Our key indicator is that young people seem to like 'TheSite.org on mobile' and it's getting used - nothing could be better."
This project will enable young people who do not own a computer and who cannot get the privacy they need at terminals in schools, libraries or internet cafes, to seek help through alternative communication platforms and obtain much-needed advice and information on sensitive financial concerns.
