Volunteering for TheSite.org

Below are all of our current, active volunteering opportunities on TheSite.org. In addition to these roles you can check out our full volunteering section to see what is available across the whole organisation.

Answer questions about relationships

Interested in becoming a relationships advisor? Volunteer as an online peer advisor and support young people by answering their questions on relationships. Set up in 2003, askTheSite offers young people access to individual, confidential and expert advice, answering their questions through a safe and secure part of TheSite.org. Your time and skills can make a big difference to our capacity to deal with young people's concerns.

Write for TheSite

Aspiring journalists: here is your chance to get a piece of work reviewed, edited and published on TheSite.org. You can be a ranter and shout about something that that's really got on your wick. Or, become a diary writer and submit lively entries on your work, travels or a special circumstance. If you have an interesting story to tell then you could get involved in publishing your own true story. Finally, if you're brimming with ideas for informative articles for TheSite, consider a stint as a volunteer journalist.

Get those creative cells working

Apply your skills as a photographer and add some more colour to our websites. We go through a massive amount of images for articles, promotional work, email updates and even blog entries. So we're always on the lookout for TheSite photographers.

Support our community

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity to help support our vibrant online community. You can get involved as a discussion board moderator giving you the chance to help our users deal with each others issues and shape our services to be the most supportive available to young people online.

Do you have a story to tell?

If you've been helped by any of YouthNet's content or services but these opportunities don't seem quite right then maybe you'd like to tell us your story? We're always on the lookout for new cast studies, so feel free to contact us and let us know how we helped.

How to apply

Click on the links to our postings on do-it.org.uk where you can read more information about the opportunity. You can then submit your application online through our registration system.

Someone from YouthNet's volunteering team will respond within ten working days with more information about the opportunity, including the next steps in the recruitment process. Depending on the role, these may include writing a letter about your interest in the opportunity, completing an exercise, or having an informal interview with one of us by telephone or in person.

We hope to hear from you!
